Haystacks & Buttermere walk - Alfred Wainwrights best Lake District view
Distance: 4.5 miles.
Time: 2.5-3.5 hours with stops
Difficulty: Moderate. Whilst relatively short - and on a well-marked path - the walk does have steep inclines and declines and a few bits to scramble up as you approach Haystacks from Scratch Gap. Highly recommended though!

| To extend your walk with a pleasant low-level walk around the edge of Buttermere - start at Buttermere village and head along the western edge of Buttermere and then onto Scarth Gap Pass & Haystacks |
