You'll get stunning views of Ullswater, Patterdale, Glenridding and the surrounding fells on this walk |

The Ullswater Steamer is a unique & fun way to get to Howtown to start the walk, which will also take you from Glenridding elsewhere if you need too - find out more here https://www.ullswater-steamers.co.uk including time tables and prices. On this walk we caught the steamer from Pooley Bridge and will catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge from Glenridding - so it's essential to time the walk right and not miss the boat back haha |
You get stunning views of Ullswater on this walk which sticks close to it's shores. Here we are looking down the eastern section of Ullswater towards Howtown & Pooley Bridge in the far distance |
This spot marks a good place to take the first rest and grab a snack and drink |
Up close to the shores of Ullswater |
Looking back towards the path we've just come up - it's quite sheltered up here and very warm on this day - like being abroad! |
Continuing on and another glimpse of the southern section of Ullswater |
This is why this route comes up here because you get lovely views of Ullswater and Glenridding that you won't get on the path closer to the shore |
There are stunning views of Patterdale, Glenridding and Ullswater on this walk. From here we head to Glenridding for a drink before we catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge. |
As ever I hope you have enjoyed this little write up and photos and it inspires you to want to visit the area and give the route a go. If you have any questions about this route - just post a comment and I'll try and answer.
