Wild swimming at Wain With Force - what a spot! In terms of location, view and accessibility - it has to be one of the best wild swimming locations in Yorkshire!

Wain Wath Force is a beautiful waterfall in Upper Swaledale near the small traditional Yorkshire Dales village of Keld (which isn't much of a drive from the Lake District too if you are in that area).

Wain Wath Force is an idyllic spot for a wild swim with amazing unspoilt natural views - and it's quite accessible as a minor road runs right near it where you can park the car and it takes literally 30 seconds to get down to the stoney shore. Being in Upper Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales - its never that busy except in summer school holidays on hot days. It's quite a deep patch of water for a good swim about and I have seen people jumping off the waterfalls themselves. I would go so far to say that it's my favourite place in Yorkshire Dales for a wild swim :-)

The red pin shows where Wain Wath Force is on the River Swale - a short distance from the village of Keld in Upper Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales. You can park the car right next to the waterfalls on the B6270 road, although space is limited - so please be considerate of other road users when parking up
