| Seal holiday cottage in Hexham - what a lovely place to stay in Northumberland that is close to Hadrian's Wall |
A perfect holiday rental cottage in Hexham, Northumberland with Wooden Star Cottages
We try and have little mini-breaks as much as time (and money :-) allows and we're always on the lookout for a variety of good places to stay (and revisit in the future) and this holiday cottage is certainly a place we would come back too. There's perhaps nothing more comfortable for a family (or friends) vacation than your own holiday cottage and this particular cottage, called Seal Cottage in Hexham, Northumberland was a lovely place to stay for a long weekend and a great base to explore the surrounding Northumbrian area (which for us entailed a walk along Hadrian's Wall)
Seal Cottage itself is owned by Wooden Star Cottages and is a stunning double-fronted stone cottage dating back to 1880. We loved how homely it felt, with it's tasteful modern decor and plenty of space for the 4 of us. The cottage does actually sleep 5 (two double-rooms, one single) so our eldest daughter was lucky enough to bag her own double room. Read on to learn more about our holiday at this Hexham Cottage.

| The living room is homely and has a modern cottage style - very comfy. The TV is equipped with a smart TV, Netflix ready and all the Free Sat channels you'll need (as well as WiFi access). The fireplace is electric but blasts out plenty of heat if needed - we didn't feel the need to use it as the central heating kept the place nice and toasty. |

| The kitchen is fully equipped with all the kitchen utensils and pots/pans you'll need , with an oven/hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher too if needed and the dining table is located here. Theres also a downstairs toilet off from the kitchen. We liked the recycling bins too! |

| All in all we absolutely loved this cottage and if every cottage we stayed at had the same quality then we'd be very happy. I don't leave a review of everywhere we stay on this blog - but if I would recommend it to friends than I will leave a review on here. I guess the only slight negative about the place is that you can't leave your car right next to the cottage as it is in effect down a pathway. However that could be a blessing as you won't hear any traffic in your stay at all! |
