Review: Wild Northumbrian Glamping in a Tree House Yurt

What a brilliant place to stay - the Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian, near Kielder Water

Glamping at Wild Northumbrian in the 'Houlet' Tree House Yurt

We where fortunate to have a little stay at the 'Houlet' Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian near Kielder Water recently - a very unique and 'back-to-nature' little hstaycation. Here's a few photos of our experience.

When you arrive at Wild Northumbrian - you leave the car in the car park and make teh short walk to your accommodation with your stuff. The sign gives you an idea of this rugged natural landscape.

A little beck runs through the Wild Northumbrian estate and the rope bridge over it leads us to our residence for the weekend

What a brilliant place to stay - the Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian, complete with its own look-out / star-gazing platform, fire pit/bbq and outdoor kitchen (with sink and running water) and gas powered shower under the Yurt itself (the compost toilet is a stone's throw away from here)

You really do feel amongst the tree's up here in the Yurt

The interior of the Yurt is very quirky and in keeping with the whole magical ethos of Wild Northumbrian. The double-bed is very comfortable, the sofa turns into 1 single-bed and there is a pull-out futton for another bed.

The wood burning stove (lots of wood provided) heats up the place in no-time and is great for making a brew!

You feel like your in a very private place here and its a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle!

We love a fire-pit and this is a great setting for an evening around the campfire

It's time for bed in this warm and cosy place

There's no electricity in the Tree House - and no TV (greta eh!) - but the bird feeder on the window makes for a bit of morning entertainment!

There are plenty of Wild Birds around and you will encounter lots of wildlife here

We loved our stay at the Tree House and its somewhere we will definitely try and come back too!

This onsite map gives you a sense of the Wild Northumbrian estate and where the various accommodation types are
