What a brilliant place to stay - the Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian, near Kielder Water |
Glamping at Wild Northumbrian in the 'Houlet' Tree House Yurt
We where fortunate to have a little stay at the 'Houlet' Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian near Kielder Water recently - a very unique and 'back-to-nature' little hstaycation. Here's a few photos of our experience.
When you arrive at Wild Northumbrian - you leave the car in the car park and make teh short walk to your accommodation with your stuff. The sign gives you an idea of this rugged natural landscape. |
A little beck runs through the Wild Northumbrian estate and the rope bridge over it leads us to our residence for the weekend |
What a brilliant place to stay - the Tree House Yurt at Wild Northumbrian, complete with its own look-out / star-gazing platform, fire pit/bbq and outdoor kitchen (with sink and running water) and gas powered shower under the Yurt itself (the compost toilet is a stone's throw away from here) |
You really do feel amongst the tree's up here in the Yurt |
The interior of the Yurt is very quirky and in keeping with the whole magical ethos of Wild Northumbrian. The double-bed is very comfortable, the sofa turns into 1 single-bed and there is a pull-out futton for another bed. |
The wood burning stove (lots of wood provided) heats up the place in no-time and is great for making a brew! |
You feel like your in a very private place here and its a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle! |
We love a fire-pit and this is a great setting for an evening around the campfire |
It's time for bed in this warm and cosy place |
There's no electricity in the Tree House - and no TV (greta eh!) - but the bird feeder on the window makes for a bit of morning entertainment! |
There are plenty of Wild Birds around and you will encounter lots of wildlife here |
We loved our stay at the Tree House and its somewhere we will definitely try and come back too! |

This onsite map gives you a sense of the Wild Northumbrian estate and where the various accommodation types are |
